Have you ever eaten a good meal before and seen "Pinhao Port"?On October 9th,Two ports in Gaimei Port, VietnamThe coastline was pieced together, with three shore bridges each, to jointly unload a large ship and establish berth sharing.
These two ports have different shareholders,CMIT is a joint venture terminal between Vietnam Maritime Corporation (VIMC) and Maersk Terminal, with Maersk holding a 49% stake. Vietnam Maritime Corporation belongs to the State owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Vietnam.TCTT is a wholly-owned terminal of Saigon New Port Company, which is managed by the Vietnamese military. Although both ports have Vietnamese state-owned assets, they belong to different lines and are direct competitors in the port market.
Both ports have a 600 meter shoreline and can only accommodate one 400 meter long ship each. But now is the era of super large container ships,After berthing a large ship, the remaining 200 meters of coastline may be idle. Two docks combined,By connecting the wire mesh in the middle with the internal passage, linking the shore bridge track, and synchronizing the port system with customs supervision, a 1200 meter long coastline was directly assembled, which can simultaneously accommodate three 400 meter long large ships.
Two terminal operators maintain their respectiveIndependent equipment systems and operation teams coordinate under a unified operation plan when unloading the same vessel,This is much more complex than regular operations, requiring coordination of ship planning, berth allocation, quay crane deployment, container truck arrangement, traffic management, and other aspects. There are many difficulties and high returns. It is estimated that the "Pinduogang" model can increase the throughput capacity of the two ports by 30% to 40% respectivelyThe total annual throughput capacity has increased by approximately 900000 TEUs.
