This memorandum of understanding was jointly signed by Ihab Sala, Director of Alexandria Port Authority, and Lv Rongdian, Managing Director and CEO of Xiamen Construction and Development Group.

According to the cooperation plan, the project will build two specialized dry bulk cargo berths, and support the construction of standardized cargo yards, storage silos, modern loading and unloading transportation systems, and comprehensive logistics facilities. After the project is completed and put into use, the terminal can dock three large cargo ships at the same time, further enhancing the unloading, bulk cargo handling, and cross-border transfer capabilities of large ships in the Alexandria Port area. At the same time, the project will strengthen the connection between the port area and Egypt's railway and road networks, build a multimodal transport system combining sea, railway, and road transportation, improve the distribution efficiency of industrial raw materials, production materials, and finished goods, and better serve industrial parks and consumer markets along the route. As the first dock sub project in the overall planning of Alexandria Port, this project will be further optimized after completionLayout of ports along the Mediterranean coast of Egypt to enhance the connectivity of north-south logistics channels.
